Our ELA Programs

YOCI Comprehensive ELA

L1–L26 · Placement by demonstrated English proficiency

YOCI Comprehensive ELA is a continuous English language arts program spanning Levels 1–26.

The program draws on U.S. ELA frameworks and is redesigned by YOCI for the English-learning environment of students in Québec.

Reading, vocabulary, grammar and writing are developed through shared themes so learners can make sustained progress during limited weekly enrichment time.

Weekly Schedule

L1–L8: Once a week · 90 minutes
L9–L26: Once a week · 120 minutes

The starting Level is confirmed through the English placement assessment and teacher review.

Short Holiday Programs

ELA Holiday Camps

During the winter break, March Break and summer, short thematic programs may be offered by age and English proficiency. Each camp combines reading, thinking, writing, speaking and project work around one complete outcome.

Mystery & Detective Camp

Read clues, analyze evidence and use inference to solve a case in English.

Creative Writing Camp

Develop characters, setting, plot and conflict to complete an original story.

Science & Discovery Camp

Use nonfiction reading, research, charts and communication to complete a science-themed project.

Debate & Presentation Camp

Build claims, reasons, evidence, speaking skills and presentation confidence.
